Job Description:

Contract/Hours: Fixed Term Contract until 30th June 2023. Full time hours. This role is 37 hrs Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 4.30pm Mon to Thurs, 8.30 am to 4pm on a Friday.  We would expect a degree of flexibility around working hours to meet the demands of the service and service users, including occasional weekend or early evening work.

Please still apply if you are unable to work the full 37hrs as We will consider part time applicants.

The Starting Well Partnership plays an important role supporting local families with children aged 0-19.  Our team works with families to develop skills, confidence, and tools to achieve a safe, happy, and independent life. We have 5 Family Hubs in the South Worcestershire area.

In partnership with health colleagues and other local and national organizations, we support local families to achieve positive outcomes. Providing such support as Family Hub services, evidence-based parenting groups, developing volunteering opportunities and offering signposting and links into local groups and support networks.

We will provide “whole family” support that will begin early and engage with children and families when they most need it supporting the “team around the family” approach working towards long term sustainable change for families that will enable them to achieve positive outcomes.

A bit about the role

In the role of Parenting Practitioner, you will provide innovative, responsive, high quality and person-centred services to parents and carers of children & young people aged 0-19. This is a pilot scheme until 30th June 23 working with families who are open to Worcester Children First. You will be composing and delivering bespoke plans to support families to engage with parenting programs and sustain positive change. This work will include home visiting and delivering group parenting programs both face to face and digitally.

  • Supporting service users in accessing the service.
  • Enabling Families to upskill themselves and encourage active participation.
  • Home visiting to support parents' engagement in parent groups

In the role of Parenting Practitioner, we're ideally looking for someone who has:

  • NVQ3 in Early Years or Social Care or relevant professional qualification or experience.
  • Experience of work with children, young people, or families.
  • Ability to manage demanding workloads and change priorities
  • Experience of facilitating groups and delivering an evidence-based programs is desirable.
  • Have access to a vehicle and willing to use for business purposes. You will have a base but be required to travel across the 5 sites.
