The district of Barburg is a county in Suffolk, United Kingdom. Primarily rural, Verburg is home to two towns of his considerable size: Sudbury and Hadley, which were administrative centres until 2017. The Council's headquarters were shared with neighbouring Mid-Suffolk and are now in Ipswich.
This district was formed on 1 April 1974 by merging the districts of Sudbury, Hadley Urban, Cosford, Melford and Samford. As of 2015, the community did not have a single party of legislators exercising overall control.
Barburg has a population of 87,740, according to the 2011 Census and covers an area of ??about 230 square miles.
Named after the Babergh Hundred mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, but also includes the Hundreds of Cosford and Samford. The district's southern boundary is almost entirely bounded by the River Stour, which also borders Essex, and is separated from eastern Suffolk by the River Orwell. It also connects the Borough of Mid Suffolk.
